"It often breaks my heart to consign the props I create to the skip, but sadly, with them being so large, there is little alternative. When I work in NYC I can call Materials for the Arts and have things dropped off to them. Sadly London has yet to set something like that up. I’m pleased to say though, Tim has been able to store many things and has then displayed them at exhibitions of his work. The camera is one such prop."
- Simon Costin, the set designer for Tim Walker, explains what happens to the props after a shoot.

Daily Dose of Tim

As you know, I am obsessed with Tim Walker. So here is my inspiration of the day: balloons!

Remember when my soul mate, Andy Warhol, used silver Mylar helium-filled balloons to make his balloon-filled room? Now everyone is following in his footsteps. And I must say, balloons make the most fantastic props. Plus, they make me happy.

Here is a picture from Tim's Dior campaign.

I just bought Tim Walker's new book titled Tim Walker Pictures. It is perhaps one of the most stunning and visually intriguing books I have flipped through in a very long time.

Tim Walker is one of the greatest living fashion photogs today. The London based genius studied at Exeter Art College in Oxford and got his start as an intern at Conde Nast. (How wonderful!) He trained under the legendary Richard Avedon, before leaving to start out on his own.

Walker has established himself as the cutting edge of fashion photography, with his work being published in Vogue, W, Harper's and Vanity Fair. His pictures capture surreal moments in time, evoking scenes from the most sublime fairy tales. They are filled with emotion, drama and beauty. Here are a few of my favorites:
