Happy Birthday to Suzanne Pleschette (January 31, 1937 - January 19, 2008). I remember when I was little and I would watch The Ugly Dachshund, I thought she was so beautiful. I still do. Make it a lazy Saturday and watch The Ugly Dachshund. It's like my favorite movie. And Suzanne has the most incredible voice. It's so sultry.

Daily Dose of Tim
As you know, I am obsessed with Tim Walker. So here is my inspiration of the day: balloons!
Remember when my soul mate, Andy Warhol, used silver Mylar helium-filled balloons to make his balloon-filled room? Now everyone is following in his footsteps. And I must say, balloons make the most fantastic props. Plus, they make me happy.
Here is a picture from Tim's Dior campaign.

Sneak Peak
I've already shown you a behind-the-scenes look into Louis Vuitton's Spring 2009 campaign. Now here's a revealing peek into Chanel's. Here, Karl is behind the camera photographing Heidi Mount in his six-bedroom Vermont home. He says, "I love this house. It is so Emily Dickinson."
Stunning, per usual.
More From The September Issue
More has leaked from the Sundance documentary The September Issue. In the film, Anna is shown meeting with Neiman Marcus/ Bergdorf Goodman, and "fundamentally telling Burt Tansky, the CEO, what to put on his shelves." Says the film's director RJ Cutler, "Right there, they're deciding what people will wear."

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday to Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 - August 11, 1956). Though he is no longer living, we must celebrate his life and his continuous influence on the art world. He was one of the major forces in the Abstract Expressionist movement. Do yourself a cultural favor and read about Pollock today in honor of his birthday.

"I was certainly surprised by Anna's prominence in this industry. It's true that she is really this singular figure in this enormous global industry. You can make a movie without Steven Spielberg's blessing and you can publish software without Bill Gates' blessing, but you can't get a dress you designed on a rack without Anna Wintour's blessing. You kind of have to see it to believe it." - R.J. Cutler, director of The September Issue.

The September Issue
Okay, so I am in a tizzy because I am so delighted to see the documentary film The September Issue. It premiered at Sundance on January 16. And the reviews are out!
The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds and was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published. The September Issue tells the story of legendary Vogue's editor in chief and my personal hero, Anna Wintour, and her team of editors creating the issue and ruling the world of fashion.
According to WWD, A&E will air the highly anticipated film sometime this year - date to be determined. So if you could not make it to Sundance, no need to worry. You can catch it on the tube.
The film was directed and produced by R.J. Cutler. Bravo, R.J., bravo. A standing ovation!
I just bought Tim Walker's new book titled Tim Walker Pictures. It is perhaps one of the most stunning and visually intriguing books I have flipped through in a very long time.
Tim Walker is one of the greatest living fashion photogs today. The London based genius studied at Exeter Art College in Oxford and got his start as an intern at Conde Nast. (How wonderful!) He trained under the legendary Richard Avedon, before leaving to start out on his own.
Walker has established himself as the cutting edge of fashion photography, with his work being published in Vogue, W, Harper's and Vanity Fair. His pictures capture surreal moments in time, evoking scenes from the most sublime fairy tales. They are filled with emotion, drama and beauty. Here are a few of my favorites:

Quote of the Day
new rims
I just got a new pair of glasses from Moscot, and I am in love in love in love! They are called the Lemtosh and are a Moscot Original. Above is a picture.
I didn't get the black frames seen above. Instead I got the brown crystal fade frames, and they are so lovely.
The Lemtosh is a "rounder, nerdier number" and has been donned by artists and intellectuals for generations, such as Truman Capote, Buddy Holly, and Johnny Depp. These are my new favorite accessory. I want to wear them all the time. And what a bargain - the frames are $180. Oliver Peoples has nothing on Sol Moscot!
And I'm not the only one who loves Moscot - Kanye West sported a pair of classic black frames during fashion week.
